Reading Recap – 101 Books in 1001 Days

I’m trying to keep my book updates separate this time around, so my regular 101 updates aren’t quite so cluttered.

With this list my books are supposed to fit into one of 10 different categories, some of which will be harder to complete than others. I have 4 read so far, not too bad for my first month!

Books on my Shelf I Haven’t Read Yet
Running for My Life – Lopez Lomong w Mark Tabb  (5/5) Loved this book. I wrote a review for this one, you can read it here.

Authors I’ve Never Read Before
The Lies of Locke Lamora – Scott Lynch (5/5) I loved this book! It’s part of a series (I’m currently on the second one), and it should totally be made into a tv series (similar to GOT and Outlander). Absolutely loved it. I’ve seen reviews comparing it to Ocean’s Eleven, but in a fantasy world with an orphan street boy, and I’d say that’s pretty accurate.

Different Genres
Science Fiction – Invasion – Sean Platt (3/5) This isn’t my typical read, but it wasn’t too bad for a science fiction “omg the aliens are coming” type book. It’s a post-apocalyptic type book, and I felt like the main  character should have been on that Doomsday Preppers show. I rolled my eyes a lot, but it was interesting enough to keep my attention.

Romance – The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever – Julia Quinn (3/5) Fun, quick read, I always enjoy Julia Quinn.

Total: 4/101
