101 in 1001 – The End of 2015 – Update

January 1st! I had to make a point of finding the time for a post today, it’s been too long since I’ve been able to slow down enough to even think of my 101 in 1001. The last 3 months – almost to the day since my last post – have been a whirlwind to say the least, and I truly hope that 2016 will be smoother for our family. We definitely have had some challenges thrown our way, and while we are not completely out of the woods yet, hopefully we are on an upwards swing and things will continue to improve as we enter into the new year.

On to the update! Only a few things completed since the beginning of October, but I suppose it’s better than nothing.

Completed

#1. Have professional family photos done.

As always, Kelly Taylor of The Bridal Lounge has done a fantastic job! I am always so happy when we have photos done by Kelly, and these were no exception. We finally had them printed over the Christmas break and I can’t wait to get them up!

#3. Bake cookies with the boys. This year we made chocolate chip cookies for Santa.

#16 Go skating. The boys are taking skating lessons this winter, so we’ve had lots of chances to get on the ice! It’s great, they take a class on Sunday evenings where Dave and I go on the ice with them, and hardly anyone else is in the class.

This one is from the DDC Christmas party:

#68 Get new glasses. Finally. I love them, AND I can see. And no, I have no photo of me wearing them 😉

That’s it! Four goals crossed of my list in three months – not ideal, but with still almost 2 years to go, I’ll take it. Hopefully I’ll get my (small!) reading update finished and posted today as well.

Updated total: 19/101

Since I’ve been doing the 101 in 1001 challenge for the past several years, I don’t typically make resolutions on New Years. I figure I have it all covered. 🙂 I do have a few open-ended goals or hopes for this year though:

  • Spend more time with my family
  • Be more creative
  • Slow down and enjoy life
  • Organize my life
  • Focus more energy into the studio
  • Blog more often!

What about you? Any challenges and goals for the new year? Anyone game for starting the 101 in 1001 challenge and keeping me company??

Enjoy 2016!
