I’m now 10 weeks in to my current 101 Things in 1001 Days Challenge: 101 Adventures. With the seasons (hopefully!) starting to change, I knew it was time for an update.
In my post 101 Things in 1001 Days: Keeping the Excitement Alive Over 33 Months, I broke it down and realized that in order to stay on track, I should be completing 3 goals each month. I’m happy to say that I’m exactly where I should be, and I’ve completed 8 goals in the last two and a half months. Considering the dreary, snowy weather that we’ve been having, I was surprised I’ve accomplished that much – I figured that I would complete the majority of my adventures during the summer months.
So what have I accomplished so far on my list of 101 Adventures?
#10. Go for a walk in the snow. This was the very first goal I accomplished, with a First Day Hike on January 1st. It was an awesome way to get outside with the family in the cold weather and still enjoy ourselves. Read more about our First Day Hike here.
#49. Visit the library. A small goal off the list, and something the kids and I need to try and do more often.
#12. Go skating outdoors and #13 Go for a walk on the beach. Completed both of these during our Family Day trip to MacGregor Point! Read more about our adventure at MacGregor Point here.
#88. Go to a professional sports game. We were lucky enough to be gifted with Raptors tickets so we took the boys and made a day of it. It was J’s first time going to anything like that, and he’s still a bit hesitant. K’s been to a few events now, and he really gets a lot out of it. As much as he enjoyed it though, he loves his Blue Jays and hopes that next time it will be another Blue Jays game!
#91. Go bowling. We’ve been lucky enough to go bowling a few times already this year! The kids love it and it’s an easy couple hour outing.
#4. Take the kids to a water park and #50. Go mini golfing. We took a short mini vacation last week, and it was so nice to get away! It was a quick one night trip to Niagara Falls and the indoor waterpark, which we usually try to do once each winter. We have it down to a science – arrive on Sunday, spend a short time at the waterpark, then head out for an early dinner. Back to the waterpark after dinner on a Sunday evening and the place is close to empty. We have our choice of waterslides with little to no wait. This year it was also J’s birthday, and he picked the Rainforest Cafe for his birthday dinner. Monday morning, we squeezed in some glow in the dark mini golf before heading home so I could teach in the afternoon.
I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far. I hope I can keep up my current pace! I’m excited for the warmer weather that is hopefully right around the corner (I’m sick and tired of the snow) and excited for more outdoor adventures, especially being able to get out on our bikes more.
